Code of Conduct
Grizzly Hacks is about learning, building, and having fun—but none of that works without a foundation of respect, safety, and responsibility. These rules apply to everyone—participants, mentors, volunteers, judges, and organizers.
By attending, you agree to everything below. No exceptions.
1. Respect Every Person
-
No bullying, harassment, hate speech, or discrimination of any kind.
-
No inappropriate jokes, slurs, or language that could make someone feel uncomfortable or unsafe
-
No touching anyone without their consent.
-
No alcohol, drugs, vaping, or weapons.
-
Breaking this rule = immediate removal.
-
Projects must be built during the hackathon. Prewritten code and past projects are not okay to submit. Submissions with this will be disqualified.
-
Judges’ and organizers’ decisions are final.
-
Teams can have up to 4 participants. All team members must be registered.
-
You’re welcome to work solo.
-
Respect your teammates’ ideas and contributions.
-
Clean up after yourself and be respectful of the venue, furniture, equipment, and shared areas.
-
Don’t move or tamper with any hardware, materials, or supplies unless you have permission.
-
If something breaks or goes wrong, report it right away.
-
Talk to an organizer or trusted adult immediately.
-
Every report will be taken seriously and handled with discretion.
Violating this Code of Conduct can lead to:
-
Removal from the event (with no eligibility for prizes)
-
Disqualification from future hackathons
-
Contacting school officials, parents, or law enforcement if necessary
We don’t want to do this, but we will if we have to, if necessary. The safety and well-being of all participants comes first.
